Bogus Creek Farm

Set amid the rolling hills of western Wisconsin, this recreation facility was designed to capture the spirit of a mid century dairy barn.  The classic gambrel barn roof was first utilized in barns to maximize hay storage.  Here the gambrel roof is utilized to provide the necessary ceiling height for a gymnasium.  The low wing stretching out behind the barn might previously have contained a milking wing, instead houses locker rooms, a game room, and two bunk rooms.  The unmistakable concrete stave silo, rather then storing hay for the winter, provides an indoor climbing wall for use year round.
